Medina Ice Festival 2023 Ice Carving Burn

On the weekend of February 17th, 2023, the Medina Ice Festival took place at Medina Square in Ohio. The festival featured countless tons of ice sculptures, ranging from traditional to modern and even a bit abstract.

But for us, the most exciting part was watching a giant ice sculpture burn. It was made by Elegant Ice Creations , a local company that specializes in custom-made ice carvings and sculptures. In addition to the burning sculpture, their were fire dancers that really put on a great show. 

It took 20 minutes for the sculpture to fully burn down and then seconds for it to be smashed with a giant chunk of ice. This was definitely a site to see—as the sculpture burned, we watched as it melted into itself until there was nothing but smoke left behind.
